Thousands are expected to rally in Washington on Monday to protest in solidarity with Cuba as they protest the 62-year dictatorship.

WINK News will be traveling with a group from SWFL to document as they lend their voices to the Cuban cause.

The 18-hour journey to D.C. from Florida is all in an effort to take part in a larger protest in the nation’s capital.

Val Simpson explains what to expect in the video below. She was able to talk to some people on that bus and feel their excitement about the upcoming demonstration.

Some of the demonstrators singled and L-shape with their fingers which stand for “liberty.”

At hour 15, some exhaustion began to set in. But not before those in the caravan began to sing along to “Patria Y Vida” which means homeland and life. The song became an anthem for the Cuban freedom movement.
