Trump Jr. Shares Clip Mocking Speaker Johnson For Saying The U.S. Isn’t Going to Let ‘Putin March Through Europe’

Donald Trump Jr. joined the chorus of MAGA Republicans fuming on Friday that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) advanced bipartisan foreign aid to Ukraine and Israel.

Trump Jr. shared a clip mocking Johnson with the caption, “Enough already! If you ever even begin to start believing anything anyone in Republican leadership tells you just watch this. Pay close attention to those that don’t seem bothered by this. They’re not our friends.”

The House on Friday advanced the Senate’s bipartisan foreign aid package to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan by a vote of 316 to 94. Democrats provided more votes than the GOP did, 165 to the Republicans’ 151, but the measure clearly has overwhelming support and is likely to pass on Saturday.

Former President Donald Trump has long been opposed to additional aid to Ukraine and some of his MAGA allies in the House have threatened to push to oust Speaker Johnson if the aid passes.

Trump Jr. appeared to parrot his father’s position on the issue Friday with the clip that showed Johnson both promising to secure the southern U.S. border and explaining the high stakes in Ukraine for U.S. national security – the latter of which Trump Jr. was mocking.

In Trump Jr.’s clip, soundbites from Johnson are mashed together, including him saying, “How can we be engaged in securing the border of foreign countries if we can’t secure our own? We know the urgency in Ukraine that we’re going to stand for freedom and make sure that Vladimir Putin doesn’t march through Europe. It’s past time to secure the border.”

While the GOP’s position has been that border security should precede additional foreign aid going overseas, most Republicans remained opposed to Putin and do not wish to see him invade other European countries.
