U.S.A. – Bahamian NBA players took the initiative to use their international networks help their own cause and support the national team programs.

Deandre Ayton and his Ayton family foundation hosted a fundraiser in Portland, Oregon to support the Bahamas National Basketball Team and youth basketball development initiatives in The Bahamas.

The event raised $75,000 to support the senior men’s national team on their journey to qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup and the 2028 Los Angles Olympics.

ESPN’s Kendra Andrews hosted a live q and a featuring Ayton, Buddy Hield, national team Head Coach Chris Demarco and general manager LJ Rose, spotlighting Bahamas Basketball’s growth and global aspirations.

You may be a little familiar with the deputy secretary general of the bahamas basketball federation – he was also on hand at the event and spoke about what it means for Bahamas Basketball

The event also featured a live auction highlighted by Trailblazers and Warriors game-day VIP packages, cooking experience with Andrea Ayton, a Baha Mar resort getaway and a signed Kobe Bryant jersey.

The Ayton Family Foundation also hosts culturally relevant programs in Portland, Oregon the Bahamas, and Jamaica.

Jazz Chisholm Jr ended his hitting slump in the best possible way.

Sunday afternoon, Chisholm blasted a solo home run to right centerfield that traveled 361 feet with a 96 mph exit velocity,

It was his first hit after an 0-24 stretch over the previous five games.

It would be the last run the Yankees would manage in the game, a 5-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants at Yankee Stadium in New York.

Facing the Giants’ Tyler Rogers, Chisholm fouled off two sinkers before he eventually got a hold of the fifth sinker he saw during the at bat.

The Yankees have been playing in cold conditions recently, with several games, 50 degrees or lower at first pitch.

Chisholm is second on the yankees with 5 home runs, trailing only Aaron Judge.
