Windy start to new week in Arizona
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Another day with temperatures well above average with highs today in the triple digits. On average our high should be around 93 degrees this time of year. The ridge of high pressure that brought us the heat this weekend is moving east and we will see some nice changes in the forecast.
An area of low pressure out in the pacific is taking shape and will move into our state later this week. With the difference in pressure expect to see stronger winds in the forecast for today and tomorrow. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for today and tomorrow in the higher terrain east of Phoenix.
Up in the high country expect to see winds out of Southwest around 20 -30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. The Red Flag Warning will end 8 pm on Tuesday evening. This low will also bring a very nice drop in temperatures starting tomorrow with highs in the lower 90’s on Tuesday and mid to upper 80’s on Wednesday.
We see warmer temperatures by the end of the work week, but over the weekend we are expecting another low to pass on thru our state and cool things down once again. Sunday we will see a high of 88 degrees and Monday our high will be 85 very nice for mid-May.
